The cruise departed Miami on July 24, stopping in Jamaica and Grand Cayman before returning to port on Saturday.
Passengers aboard a Carnival Sunrise cruise to Jamaica had more than just seasickness to contend with after blistering heat caused some air conditioning systems on the ship to fail last week.
Impacted travelers were offered a 50% refund of their ticket price, and buckets of ice to keep cool. Passengers on board reported temperatures as high as 80 degrees in their cabins. While at sea, the air conditioning on a Carnival Sunrise cruise failed on certain portions of the ship. The cruise ship 'Carnival Sunrise' part of the Carnival Cruise Line, is seen moored at a quay in the port of Miami, Florida, on December 23, 2020, amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
